On November 14 2016, Axiom received the 2016 Cyprus Innovation Award, established by the Cyprus Employers & Industrialists’ Federation (OEB) in 2006. Axiom received the award in the ‘Services’ category for creating innovative business models and technologies in customer loyalty.

Axiom was awarded the prize after a competitive selection process during which it presented, to a jury made of distinguished experts, how it transformed the customer shopping experience by introducing instant benefits on collective behaviour through a new and extremely fast transaction flow and innovative algorithms in real-time campaign management.

The Award ceremony was held at the Hilton Cyprus hotel in Nicosia. The President of the Republic of Cyprus, Mr. Nicos Anastasiades, presented the Award to Axiom’s Executive Director, Victor Efthimiades. In his prior introductory speech, Mr. Anastasiades explained ’’’Cyprus is making significant progress and has high growth rates in innovation and research, after experiencing a painful financial crisis. It shows that Cyprus has the creative forces that the country needs to get into a new era of economic growth and prosperity. [...] Collective work, research and development can play a catalytic role in creating new, dynamic and high value-added sectors of economy that will substantially differentiate our development model and make it more balanced’’.

In his acknowledgement speech at the ceremony, Victor Efthimiades argued that innovation is easier to conceive than to pursue and implement. “There are sufficient problems and inefficiencies in many aspects of business and everyday life, to make it easy to spot an opportunity for innovation. The difficult part of innovation is to inspire people to develop it and people to embrace it, culturally and financially. We are lucky and at the same time proud to have an inspired team which constantly thinks and innovates, as well as a forward looking clientele that has trusted and supported some of our pioneering ideas. Their commitment made it possible for me to stand here and receive this award today, on their behalf”, Victor concluded.
