Hungary’s Multipont re-launched with Merit Loyalty Suite

Led by the petrochemical MOL Group and OTP Bank and uniting some of the country’s leading organizations such as CBA Supermarkets and bauMAX DIY, eDigital electrics and electronics retailer, Multipont re-launched and extended its highly established loyalty program, on the backbone of Axiom’s Merit loyalty management and CRM platform.

By implementing Merit Campaigns and eChannels, Axiom’s state of the art campaign management and online transaction processing engine, Multipont is now able to provide online/real-time customer rewards at MOL Petrol’s filling stations, CBA Supermarkets and a host of other popular establishments, totalling over 1500 locations in Hungary.

Axiom’s expertise in retail and banking loyalty and Merit’s reliable support for large coalition loyalty programs enabled Multipont to implement its strategy for a seamless real-time rewards experience at all locations where the Program is offered. Merit’s multi-faceted capabilities enabled Multipont to support its main partners’ strategy for differentiation of rewards by item, location and method of payment.

The Program supports multiple types of cards, including Multiponts proprietary loyalty cards (meaning several types of co-branded cards acquired at the Programs main parners), certain OTP debit as well as credit bankcards.

On the marketing and communications side, Multipont is making full use of Merit Intelligence and Communications for selecting target segments and for creating and distributing personalized content, both massively and interactively, as triggered by customer online interaction with the program.

“The Multipont Program offers its partners the power of a large and proven coalition of some of the country’s most prestigious organizations, with the flexibility found in small dedicated programs. This opportunity is enabled by Merit’s capability to include and seamlessly process any type of relationship and transaction, from any source. Our Partners maintain their distinctive image, while enjoying the increased customer loyalty gained by offering rewards under a large scheme.” says András Balásfalvi-Kiss dr., Multipont’s Managing Director. ”From the members’ perspective, we have a rapidly growing membership base, which is enjoying the real-time targeted rewards and the ease of access to information offered literally at any channel of interaction, including our partners’ stores and our Program’s website.”, concludes András.

By implementing a comprehensive list of web services under Merit eChannels, Multipont was able to allow its members to enjoy online most of the service experience offered by the company’s call center. Customer registration, account and general program inquiries, as well as account management functions such as transferring points, are all enabled through the Program’s website.

Being a coalition program, Multipont offers its members the collective benefits of all partners. Customers are rewarded for their purchases at any MOL filling station and other partners, as well as for any of their purchases at any program partner merchant location when using an OTP bankcard. Rewards are accelerated for transactions at program partner merchants paid with an OTP bankcard and for particular items such as MOL’s premium fuel. Multipont members have the option to team up and accumulate points faster in family or group accounts.

When it comes to redemption, Multipont’s strategy is to provide the ultimate customer convenience, which is implemented through the ability to redeem points as full or partial payment for all products sold depending on the given participating partners capabilities.
